RACE RECAP
Kansas Lottery 300 โ Saturday, April 18, 2026 ยท Kansas Speedway ยท 200 laps, 300 miles
Joe Gibbs Racing's #54 Operation 300 Toyota rolled off the trailer dressed white and yellow in tribute to fallen service members and their families. Four and a half hours and seven cautions later, it had a twenty-one-year-old standing on its roof and a storyline worth writing about.
Taylor Gray led the final forty-eight laps to win the Kansas Lottery 300 โ his second career NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series victory and his first since Martinsville in October 2024. It ends a drought that had quietly become the longest of his young career, and it breaks open what had been an ugly start to the 2026 season for the Denver native.
"It's been a long start to the year, man," Gray said from the roof of the #54. "Not that we're not bringing speed to the racetrack, it's just things haven't really gone our way."
