SAN DIEGO - Layne Riggs did not need a clean race to prove he had the best closing hand in the Navy 250. He needed patience, restart control and enough speed left after 53 laps of curb-hopping traffic to finish off NASCAR's first Truck Series race at the San Diego Street Course.
Riggs started second, won Stage 1 and led a race-high 21 laps, but the day kept forcing the No. 34 Front Row Motorsports Ford to reset. Kaden Honeycutt led early from the pole. Parker Kligerman flipped Stage 2 his way. Chandler Smith controlled a late stretch.
